The Island Called Temasek Part 6: Day 2 (Final)

Date: 25/12/2011
Location: Singapore

Continued from here...

We went to the Riverside Point to experience another Singaporean night in the city.

1. Building with colourful windows

2. Ixora as street/buffer planting
3. Clarke Quay

4. Street sculptures.

5. People sitting by the riverside

6. Fisherman's Market

7. River cruising point at the other side of the river

8. Moving boat

9. Riverside Point

10. Covered pedestrian street

11. People waiting their turn to hop on cruise

12. Entry point to more happening spot

13. LED in-ground lighting at pavement

14. Mexican bar and restaurant
15. Wooden-like colourful building

After this, things went almost out of control. People were singing and drinking and some already drunk. So we decided to leave for a more quiet place. Tanjong Pagar Railway Station.
The station closed on 30th June 2011 but since the main building of the railway station was gazetted as the national  monument on 9th of April 2011, it will be preserved and conserved. Just, unfortunately for me for missing the glorious moment of the station since my last year's backpacking on train plan had to be cancelled.

16. The quiet building of the former famous railway station

17. Looking haunted, isn't it. :D

18. I bet nothing beats eating nasi lemak and mee rebus in such place

19. Parking lot and building around the railway station.

Next, we were brought to Marina Barrage. It is in fact a dam in Singapore built across the mouth of the bay, between Marina East and Marina South. Officially opened on 1st of November 2008, it was Singapore's fifteenth reservoir. Impressive huh for a small island country? I read it all here by the way. Heheh.

20. On the way up to the upper floor. Very windy up here.

21. Many people were here. They came for kite flying, picnic, hangout.

22. View from above. Very very windy and can you see the flying kite?

23. Constructions here and there

24. Marina Barrage

Khalas. End of our holiday in Singapore. A very nice holiday indeed, thanks to my dear friend. :)

After this we were sent back to JB but before that we stopped at a makan place for supper!

I'm always looking forward to another day trip on weekend again to Singapore since it is not that far from KL. Hopefully soon. Very soon. *Kissing the little red book!

~The End~
